Login Passwords
If you want all users to enter a password and login id prior to running the program follow the procedure below.
Start the program. From the main menu select Security>Create First User
Follow the on screen prompts and add the first user. The first user is automatically given Supervisor privileges.
To add additional users select the following from the main menu Security>Browse Users. You will see the screen below:
Add: Button to add a new user.
Edit: Change user information.
Delete: Delete the highlighted user.
User Group : If you have a large number of users then it may not be convenient to set the access rights for all the users individually. In this case you can create groups of users. Normally you won't use this if you are just using login and password restrictions and not setting access restrictions to certain areas of the program.
When you click the Add button you will see the screen below:
First name & Last name : Enter the users name
Login Code : This is the Login Code the user will use to identify himself to the system. Note that the supervisor cannot set the password for the user. The password will default to be the same as the Login Code, after that only the user can change it from the main menu by selecting Security>Change Password.
Level : Set the User to be either another Supervisor, and Operator, or a User with No Access.
Initial Access : If the User is an Operator, then you can set their Default Access. This is typically either All Access, or No Access, but it can also be set to the Login access of another Operator. In that case the new operator will assume all the current Screen Security settings of the selected Default Access operator.
User Group : If the User is an Operator, then he can belong to a pre-defined User Group. If you have a large number of users then it may not be convenient to set the access rights for all the users individually. In this case you can create groups of users. To assign a user to a group, double click on the applicable user group check box. To create a user group select Security/Browse User Groups from the main menu.
Password Login Overview. If you want all users to login to gain access to the program perform the following:
1. Create the first user who will be a supervisor and create other users by Selecting Security>Create First User.
2. To create additional users select Security>Browse Users from the main menu
3. Click the Add Button on Browse Users screen.
4. Enter your name and login id. Your login id will be your password the first time you log into the program. For example if you enter the login id of Master, the first time you login you will enter Master for your login and Master for your password. You can change your password from the Main Menu by selecting Security>Change password.
NOTE: The first person entered here will have Supervisor level. Only a Supervisor can enter users and set access levels.
5. Set Access level. If you are a Supervisor and are adding users, most will be set to the operator level. It is good idea to have at least 2 supervisors. A supervisor can add another supervisor.
6. If you just want a user to have a login and password to access all areas of the program, set the Default Access to All Access.
Users Groups are not needed if you are going to allow all users with a valid login and password to use all areas of the program.
Now all users must enter a login and password to access the program. They will be able to use all areas of the program after a valid login. If you want to restrict their access to certain features, see Setting Access Rights.
